International Regatta
‘Cor Caroli’

1. EVENT
Regatta Cor Caroli will be held from August 12th to August 15th, 2006 and will
be sailed off the North Bulgarian Black Sea coast (see Program, art.8).

3. ELIGIBILITY
The regatta is open for all boats of the following classes: · class Conrad 25R,
crew between 3 and 5 persons · class Carter 30, crew between 3 and 6 persons ·
class “А” free, monohull, LOA max 30 feet, crew between 3 and 6 persons · class
“B” free, monohull, LOA over 30 feet, crew between 3 and 8 persons The classes
will be formed if minimum three yachts are available after registration
completed.
4. DOCUMENTS
During registration at Race Office in Yacht Club “Capt.G.Georgiev Port Varna”
the Skipper should lodge: · Skipper’s certificate of competance · entry form (get
a blank entry form at Registration desk) · crew insurance policy
5. REGISTRATION
5.1. Owners or Skippers shall register in the Organiser's Office untill 11th
August 2006, 1600 hrs. 5.2. Owners or Skippers shall register at the
Registration desk at the Race Office from 0800 to 1100 hrs. on 12th August 2006.
6. RULES The Regatta will be governed by: · The Racing Rules of Sailing 2005-2008 (RRS 2005-2008; · International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea, 1972 (COLREG); · The requirements of Maritime Administration of Bulgaria for equipment of small vessels; · The Notice of Race (NOR); · The Sailing Instructions (SI).
7. ADVERTISING
The event is designated as category “C” of ISAF Advertising Code, regulation 20
(RRS 2005-2008, Appendix 1).
8. PROGRAM
12th August, Saturday 0800-1100 Registration. 1100 Skipper’s meeting at Yacht Club “Capt.G.Georgiev Port Varna” 1130 Press conference at Yacht Club “Capt.G.Georgiev Port Varna” 1300 Start Race 1 “windward-leeward” (up and down) off Varna 6 n.miles
13th August, Sunday 0900 Start Race 2 Varna - Byala 28 n.miles 2030 Crew party at Byala.
14th August, Monday 0900 Start Race 3 Byala – Balchik 35 n.miles 2100 Discotheque for all crews at Balchik
15th August, Tuesday 0900 Start Race 4 Balchik – Varna 18 n.miles 1900 Prize giving, closing ceremony at Varna.
9. SCORING
The low point Scoring System as defined in RRS 2005-2008, Appendix A.4. based on
real time will apply to all races. · Coefficient for Race 1 – 1. · Coefficient
for Race 2 and Race 3 – 2. · Coefficient for Race 4 – 1,5.
10. PRIZES
The best three overall boats in each class will receive a cup and cash prize.
Prize will be not handed to a boat if anybody of her crew is presented on the
prize giving ceremony.
11. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY
11.1. Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See
rule 4, Decision to Race. The Skipper of the boat will be responsible for
minors. 11.2. The Organising Authority or any member of Race Committee will not
accept any liability for personal or material damage, injury and/or death,
sustained in conjunction with, prior to, during or after the regatta, on water
or on ashore. The Organising Authority disclaims any and all such liability.
Competitors agree to be bound by ISAF RRS 2005-2008, by this Notice of Race (NOR)
and Sailing Instructions (SI). Competitors agree to take any and all
responsibility for the seaworthiness and nautical qualities of their boat, the
rigging, the crew’s ability and the safety equipment.
12. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
Sailing instructions will be available at registration.
13. SOCIAL PROGRAM
Final social program will be available at registration.
14. COMMUNICATIONS
All boats to be equipped with a marine VHF transceivers operating on VHF channel
16 and 77. During the races continue watch to be kept on channel 77.
Availability of cell phones on board of every participating boat will be high
appreciated.
15. SAFETY
Safety security will be carry out by BULSAR, Varna – volunteer organisation for
search and rescue (SAR) at sea. Skippers and crews may call 24 hrs a day
following phone numbers +359 888 971 011 or +359 898 631 471 for weather
forecast, navigational and gale warnings.
16. BERTHING
Berthing at all ports of call during the Regatta will be free of charge.
Berthing at Yacht Club “Capt.G.Georgiev Port Varna” will be free of charge from
1200 a.m. on 11.08.2006 until 1200 a.m. on 16.08.2006.
15. TV and MEDIAS
By participating in the Regatta «Cor Caroli» the competitors automatically grant
to the organizers and it's sponsors the right in perpetuity to make, use and
show, from time to time at their discretion, any motion pictures and live, taped
or filmed television and other reproductions of him or her during the period of
the competition without compensation.

Times are given according Bulgarian Summer Time (GMT+3hrs).
